As a Black woman with a camera, I possess a unique perspective that allows me to capture the essence of Black life outdoors in its most authentic form. My lens is a powerful tool that can reveal the beauty and depth of Black culture, ensuring these stories are told in a way that honors our true nature.
It's essential to recognize that when our stories are told by those outside the culture, the narratives are often shrouded in darkness. My role as a Black image maker is to illuminate our outdoor narratives, centering them in 'good light' where they can be celebrated in their divine fullness.
