Black images are underrepresented in outdoor media. I'm working to change that.
When I launched The Black Images Project, my desire to feel seen inspired me to create a collection of images that center and celebrate Black life outdoors. There's much to see here and on Instagram (@TheBlackImagesProject), so pause, spend some time with the images and allow them to light your spirit.
Black Life Outdoors puts the focus on Black people recreating outdoors and celebrates the spirit we bring to the spaces we love. This limited edition, coffee table style, full color photo book features Black hikers, bikers, campers, swimmers, kayakers, walkers, and more!
Black Life Outdoors aims to create a true picture of outdoor recreation, one where we see ourselves represented. SOLD OUT!
Black Life Outdoors tells the story of our roots in the outdoor recreation community.
Sis Shot This full page image featured in the month of February! The Eno River State Park wall calendar celebrates all those who make the Eno what it is.
Also featured in February, this image beautifully represents our presence in outdoor spaces.
I'm honored to be in the community of photographers who contributed images to the calendar this year. (photo credit: unknown)
